Dear Parents,
Today the students were busy getting ready for our school grand opening. Each family may sign up for tickets to attend our dress rehearsal on Thursday or the Grand Opening on Friday.  Both are to be held at 1 p.m.

Today the students spent some time reflecting about Remembrance Day.  Their feelings shone through their work.  They truly expressed how thankful they are for the soldiers and veterans that have brought “peace” to our Canada. Important Dates: Learning Commons - Wednesdays ( Please remember to bring your books back to school). In math, we looked at the mental math strategies called “doubles” and “doubles plus 1”. Feel free to ask your child about it this evening. Just a friendly reminder that the students are going to create a magnetic toy or game on Friday.  Please have a conversation with your child about his or her idea.  Also, help them collect recycled materials from home to build it.   Looking ahead… Create a magnetic toy or game on Friday. Dear Parents, Your child is coming home with his or her home journal today.  Please take a few minutes to read it over with your child.  This is their unedited work, therefore,  do not correct your child’s writing as we are working on their writing goals during class time. We spent some time learning about festivals that our Canadian Communities celebrate.  We learned an inuit game called leg pull.  The students had a lot fun trying it out on a gym mat. We also looked at some Ukrainian dances and are planning to learn one in the days ahead... We will be creating a device that keeps things cool or warm next week.  Please send in materials with your child if you have them at home by Tuesday.  A list was provided yesterday.
