Dear Parents,
We have spent the past two days coteaching with the entire grade two classes.  It has been an amazing experience facilitating students work together on their feelings project.  The students have discussed, role played, and written their thoughts in collaboration with their fellow classmates. Ask your child about his or her group and what their secret feeling word is…

Our class logged onto both IXL and Raz Kids on the laptops today.  Please encourage your child to continue practising reading and math for 15 minutes a day.
Our class will be Inline skating on Monday and Tuesday.  Please have them dress in appropriate clothing for this activity.  It can get rather warm in the gym, therefore, a tee shirt and comfortable bottoms are best suited.

Dear Parents, We had an amazing morning at the Aboriginal Learning Centre.  The students toured the school, learned about artifacts and engaged in indigenous games. Here are some photos of our day... Dear Parents, We had a great start to our day with a presentation by HOJE.  The talented singers sang and had the audience captivated with songs from the top 40 music charts. Feel free to ask your child about the performance tonight. The students are busy preparing and practising for our grade two learning celebration on June 2 at 8:30 a.m.  Please book some time off if you can to join the grade two’s on that day. Important Information: Practise home reading daily. Please return all field trip forms as soon as possible if you haven’t already done so.   Our class now has enough volunteers for the Aboriginal Center on May 29 but is in need for 2 parents to come with us to the Ed Center. Dear Parents, Your child learned how to do his or her home journal through an email today. They were so excited about it!  Please keep in mind that they are just beginning to use a keyboard and are learning.  There are some great websites for you to use at home for them to practise their keyboarding skills.  Dance Mat Typing is one that you can try at home. You are welcome to send an email back to your child about their learning at school. www.dancemattypingguide.com/dance-mat-typing-level-1/stage-1/ We are going to begin to learn about Boats and Buoyancy on Monday. Practise home reading daily. Our two field trips have been approved.  We will be going to the Aboriginal Centre on May 29 and the Education Centre on June 8.  In order for the trips to happen, we will need volunteers.
